Sun Valley Trekking has offered unique winter and summer backcountry
adventures since 1982. Recently featured in Outside Magazine and
Travel
and Leisure Magazine, Sun Valley Trekking has five huts and
yurts strategically located in two Idaho mountain ranges. We specialize in exploring the vast wilderness north of Sun Valley,
which harbors some of the finest nordic and backcountry terrain
anywhere.
Whether you want to rent one of our yurts or huts for an independent
party, or if you prefer a guided experience, we can accommodate
you. We offer custom single and half-day instructional outings,
multi-day hut trips, and exploratory ski traverses and expeditions
in Idaho, Yellowstone National Park, and Alaska. Our
huts and yurts provide the ultimate forum for backcountry adventure,
leisure, and learning.
Join us in the warmer months for wildflower and bird walks, or
climb a peak in the beautiful mountains around Sun Valley. Coyote
Yurt is available for summer rental.
The ideal spot for high mountain getaways, retreats, and workshops,
Coyote Yurt provides an idyllic setting and access to an endless
network of mountain biking and hiking trails.
In Yellowstone National Park, we offer multi-day sea-kayaking and
fly fishing trips on the magnificent sub-alpine lakes that take
you into the heart of the wilds. Explore geyser basins, walk sandy
shorelines, sample hotsprings -- experience America's first National
Park away from the crowds.
The guides of Sun Valley Trekking are what set us apart. Each of us has extensive teaching and guiding experience, many with an advanced degree in a related field, and all with a deep love for what we do. Sharing the
joy of the backcountry while caring for the comfort and safety of
our guests is our mission. Our trips are geared towards each person's
experience and comfort level. Whether you are a skier, snowboarder,
snowshoer, mountaineer, naturalist, photographer, kayaker, backpacker,
fisherman or woman, or aspire to be any of these, we share excellent
food, friendship, and laughter in the incredible wildlands of Idaho,
Wyoming, and Alaska.
